Wales – Six Nations outright winners @ 4/1… Everyone knows the profile of Rugby Union in Wales, and the national side has been strong for a number of years now. They have won the tournament three times under coach Warren Gatland, and he has assembled a very capable squad in recent times. Despite a dismal run of results in the autumn internationals, I expect to see a strong showing from the Welsh side come February.
Silviniaco Conti (Favourite) – Cheltenham Gold Cup winner @ 3/1… The leading steeplechaser from Paul Nicholls’ stable also leads the betting at the 2015 Gold Cup. After retaining his crown in the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day, Noel Fehily takes the reigns once again as he will be looking to fulfil this horse’s true potential on the grandest stage of all.
AB de Villiers (South Africa) – Cricket World Cup, Top Batsman @ 14/1… Certainly the most talented batsman in the World with an endless vocabulary of shots. South Africa are sure to go far in the competition and they will rely on their skipper to be the main cog in their batting engine room. Off the back of his record-breaking 149 against the West Indies last month I believe this bet represents good value.
