The Students’ Union are asking for any information regarding an incident of vandalism that occurred in the Bolland Library on Frenchay campus on the 6th of January between 10am and 1pm.

Two printers on the fourth level of the library were damaged beyond repair, meaning that only one printer on that level was available for use during the crucial assessment period. “It’s unacceptable that students choose to damage equipment rather than ask the library staff for assistance” said Vice President of Education JJ Clarke,  “the SU have a very close relationship with the library and behaviour like this can impact heavily on future opportunities for students using the library.”

The SU are appealing to any students or staff who may have information on the incident to contact library staff. Meanwhile, JJ informed us that “UWE Library Services are working with the Student Conduct team and liaising with PC Mark Brain (UWE’s on-campus police officer) to identify the culpable individuals and take the appropriate action.”
