It is that time of the year again, when UWE students will have the chance to nominate and acknowledge the work of their favourite Student Reps or lecturers from the university.

Every student can vote an unlimited amount of times and cast their choice on the SU’s website. The deadline for nominations closes at 5pm on the 27th of February.

JJ Clark, the VP for Education at UWESU, explains what the event is all about: “The ceremony is segmented into two parts – the Student Rep Awards where we recognise the achievements of Student Reps and the Student Led Teaching Awards where we recognise the positive work staff have been doing to enhance the experience of the students they teach.”

Both sets of awards have their own criteria with the Student Rep awards having seven categories and the Student Led Teaching awards a total of six.

“It promises to be a really exciting evening. We’re really pleased to have the Vice Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor to attend to present awards to the winners.” JJ adds.

The UWESU annual event will be held on 24 March at the Marriot Hotel in Bristol’s city centre; it is the 10th anniversary of the award ceremony.
