>Fancy seeing Bristol in a different light this summer?
St Peter’s Hospice are sponsoring a Midnight Walk on Saturday 7 July for the women of Bristol to enjoy a girl’s night out with a difference.
The Midnight Walk is offering two different distances to choose from, ten miles and five miles.
Organisers have added the five mile option to get more women involved who want to walk a shorter distance.
The walk starts at 10.30pm from Bristol City Football Club at Ashton Gate with the well-marshalled route taking participants around the city, including a visit to Clifton Suspension Bridge, Brandon Hill and the SS Great Britain.
The walk will then finish back at Ashton Gate.
Organisers are hoping the walk will attract 2000 women this year, especially with the available option of now being able to walk a smaller distance.
St Peter’s is Bristol’s only adult hospice which cared for 2200 patients last year and supported more than 6000 family members, including children.
Jo Gibbons, the head of fundraising for St Peter’s Hospice, said: “The first two Midnight Walks were a tremendous success and the famous pink T-shirt has become something of a symbol of our big-hearted city’s enthusiasm.
“Although you don’t have to be super fit to tackle the ten-mile course we thought the distance involved might be putting some ladies off joining in this fabulous and rewarding event. The five-mile option will hopefully see more ladies join us and raise even more money. And most importantly it’s a really fun night out!”
Registration is £12 with walkers receiving an event pack, which includes a T-shirt.
St Peter’s Hospice are also requiring event marshalls (men and women) to watch over the walkers, and make sure their walk goes without hitch. To register and find out more, contact Louisa on 0117 915 9300 or email email@example.com
