UWE’s Bower Ashton campus will be hosting a Christmas Fair with arts, crafts and home made cookies, with a DJ livening up the atmosphere and the bar serving mince pies and mulled wine. Make sure to pop by between 4:00PM and 6:00PM on December 6th!

So this is Christmas… Jessie May proudly presents a special night of original music and festive covers on December 7th at 20:00, featuring some of the finest bands and musicians from across the South West. Headlining the show is Cheltenham based ska jazz trio Thrill Collins. Tickets cost £10 full price and £8 for students.

On December 8th, MShed will be hosting a series of Christmas Festivities, between 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. It’s an opportunity to get creative by making your own Christmas ornaments, to decorate the MShed Christmas tree and enjoy carol performances from some of the best voices in Bristol. No entry fee.

Every year, the Lord Mayor of Bristol’s Children Appeal helps around 1,650 underprivileged children in Bristol. This annual carol concert, on the 10th of December, in association with the Bristol Post, has become a very important fund-raising event for the Appeal, raising thousands of pounds as well as being a wonderful seasonal event in the run-up to Christmas. The long awaited film ‘The Hobbit’, starring Martin Freeman as Bilbo, is premiering at Bristol’s Showcase Cinema de Lux on December 13th, with screenings as 12am, 2pm and 4pm. The film is 3D and the price of a ticket with glasses is £11.70, or £10.50 without glasses.

The Watershed is screening ‘When Santa fell to Earth’ for a week, from December 14th to December 20th. The film last 107 minutes and it is describe as ‘ A glorious festive romp that will get the whole family in the mood for Christmas. With two weeks until the big day, Ben and Charlotte’s world is turned upside down when Santa Niklas Goodfellow, the most unusual Father Christmas ever, crash lands into their lives. It’s only the beginning of what turns out to be a remarkable series of Christmas adventures – expect chases, invisible reindeer, fake santas and vicious nutcrackers for starters! ‘ Tickets can be booked online and the screening hours vary between 2:30pm and 1:40pm. Bring the whole family to watch an alfresco screening of the classic Christmas film ‘Father Christmas’ for FREE on the Big Screen in At-Bristol’s Millennium Square on December 16th.
