Beermat Challenge hits UWE

Following the nearly 7000 strong response in December, the second heat of the Beermat challenge is upon us. For those of you who have not heard of it, now is your time to get involved.
With a view to increase awareness of the Ideas Factory and the BizIdea competition that runs during spring term, the challenge is a light hearted and engaging way to put forward any business ideas you may have.

Ideas can be either written on one of the 12,000 beer mats which are distributed in the Student Union bars or submitted online at www.beermatchallenge.co.uk.
The website was developed with generous help from a proof of concept grant by Dave Cropley and Chris Keegan, directors of Evans & Finch.
The entire University population has a chance to cast their votes on whether they think each idea is “good” or “bad” and depending on the quality of the submitted ideas the comical 'ideas' stick man is illuminated by fireworks and dancing flowers or exploded by lightning, crushed by fish and hit by speeding cars respectively.

From the sublime to the ridiculous, it is a fun way to pass time while contributing something innovative to the greater good. The last winner received an Olympus digital voice recorder and the second heat winner, which will be decided on the 29th of January, will win a Sony Cybershot Camera.
